Salsburg & Munich

So this weekend was quite an amazing one, it started off great with a sledding trip around the mountains by the Kartausa, and by doing it I got to meet some of the Professors kids and that came in handy because at one point i was tackled by one of my friends and in turn all the kids tacked him, so the sledding consisted from after my class that ended at 3 to supper then after supper i was convinced to go sledding again then after that i attended the first Festival of Praise this year.

then the next morning we woke up early for the bus ride to Salzburg and upon arrival we had Mass in a very nice Church, then we went off and had Lunch at a just as nice restaurant (it's nice to see that the University was spending our money well) and then they gave us free time to wander about Salzburg, me and a few other kids used it to Validate (not our Euro-rail but another thing that lets us travel around Austria for half off), and along the way we were window shopping and saw a lot of other cool things, after we spent a healthy time walking around we found a nice Italian shop and decided to have Supper there, and after that i went off to the Classical Concert (which was nothing like i expected) then after that i went off (with practically everyone else who was at the concert) to the local Beer hall and shared our experiences over a liter, then Fr. Brad came along and taught us a Song in German that was really epic, and when we tried to sing it, it resulted in Charles breaking his beer mug. So after that as we were walking back some of us decided to Stop by Shamrocks (Irish Pub) and i ducked in there too, i didn't have anything to drink there but i did make friends with the Bouncer, and i learned that he's getting married in 2 months, he's from the Ukraine, he a newly converted Christian, and after some talking he went off and got me a free Red Bull drink.

Then the next day started and we jumped on the bus to Munich and that was fun it started in Mass, then a tour around Munich where i saw the famous bell thing at 12:05 and eventually the Chicken flapped his wings, after about 10 minuts of waiting. and then lunch at the Hofbrahouse (a world famous beer hall) and this is where i heard the story of when Munich was on fire and the fire department had no water to put it out, all the beer halls joined together and put it out with their brew, so Beer saved the city of Munich. After lunch i went off with some other kids to the open air market, and looked at the local shops, after that we went to the Marian Square (coincidentally where at the time Bishop Ratzinger prayed every morning) and we sang the Diving mercy Chaplet at 3:30. After that i purchased a very nice scarf for a lot cheaper that i usually saw scarfs, then we went in search for the a Cafe that was famous for its Hot chocolate, we eventually found it and i had some "caramel and rice crispy" and i would argue that it is definitely in the top Ten of Hot Chocolates. so after that we found our way to the buses and made our way back to Salzburg, and when we were back i went out and got my first Kabob, which was insanely Delicious.

The Next morning we had Mass with the Archbishop, in the first total German Mass that i ever had, and then we took the buses to a famous Church was was shown in "The Sound of Music", and i was was physically in a lot of places that was shown in the movie Sound of Music too. but at that church i was able to get some Holy Water, and then we took the buses back to the Gaming, and after that we had time before the Menza (Cafeteria) opened so i talked to my parents over Skype (which was really nice and about time i did it too) then we ate Supper and afterwards i was able to finish my Homework

so now its Monday and i finished my first Class and now waiting for lunch

ummmm its wendsday

so its Wednesday and my last post was on Sunday so i feel like i must put something up, its actually been pretty packed I've been keeping up with my homework and that's been keeping me busy for the majority of the time, recently ive been thrown in a panic of late when i was told that i needed slacks when we go to the Vatican and especially when we got to a classical concert this weekend in Salsburg, so this past Monday me and my roommate walked around four miles looking for this clothing store that a priest told us about. with no luck and drenched in snow and water we came back to our room diminished in spirit (plus we went into this shady department sore that was probably a front for something else) then Tuesday we had the afternoon classes off so me Steven Dimassimo and Michael Blankenberger went on a hike behind the Kartausa this led to some interesting stuff like following railroad tracks punching snowballs and sliding/falling down a very steep hill we also had a very glorious descent down the hill which several persons of the opposite sex saw and enjoyed i believe. (the descent mainly consisted of us sliding down on our bums) then after that me and my roommates sorted our trash which is really important to the Austrians, then as soon as we were finished with that we realized that our room was a mess and a RA was going to show up in five minutes to check it. this resulted in a mad dash to get our room tidy and we actually did it we cleaned our room and it passed satisfaction. and then this leads us to today... Wednesday... so yea... nothing out of the blue happened(besides you know, being in a foreign non-English speaking country) me and one of my roommates went to the local store and stocked up on food, and some select beverages, and i found out that there is no store in the little town of gaming that sells slacks (after a salesperson tried to sell me underwear) o and while i was on my computer in the downstairs lounge there was a fire drill, i didn't know what was going on originally until it was about halfway over then me and a few other kids had to rush outside, and guess what i was barefoot, in the snow, so my roommate let me borrow his sandals on the condition that i would carry him on my back, so that happened for a good ten minutes before they let me back in, so im downstairs again, and after i finish this I'm hopefully gonna finish the 60 more pages i have to read!
i know but its something i gotta do

Vienna

So its been a while since i last "Blogged" but since then i went to Vienna
while at Vienna we did an assortment of things, first we went to Mass at a quaint little Church, then they took us on a tour of a lot of historical monuments and churches, St. Stevens is one of them (Look at picture of awesome church) and then we ate at this really good restaurant couldn't really tell you what i ate, think it was chicken but the served a weird salad and i don't like salad already so i passed on that. after that the school group spit up and me and a few other kids went wandering around Vienna, while wandering we found the National Treasure, that's where we lost a few of them, then we continued our search of something fun then we stumbled the national museums of Art and History and that's where we lost everybody save me and two others by the name of Trish, and Katie, when it was just us three we went off to the main shopping area where i found this Vienna Beanie that i became attached too and eventually bought, while we were wondering around we saw a person who was painting pictures with Spray paint that looked unreal but we say her do it as we were looking at her (see other picture) then we went to a chocolate shoppe where i invested in some delicious chocolate bites for only two euros then we went looked around again and found a quaint little Church called St. Ann's and we caught the end of some ceremony after that we went to the top of some judicial building and i saw some household brothers of mine so i started singing our household song but i guess they were too embarrassed to sing along because they just looked up at me and kept walking. after ten to thirty minutes of standing on the roof and collecting other Franciscan students it was time to go and we promptly left.
The next day arouse (today) and we went to Mass at ten, after Mass i tried to start on my homework and i got a little done before i went to a tour of the Kartousa and and on that tour i went all around, from a small little garden to the big Library , to the bell tower that had some Russian Graffiti on it. After the tour in a spontaneous rush of excitement a bunch of the guys went up and jumped in the river that runs by where we stay (see picture again)
after that glorious victory i tried to study a bit more then i went to Dinner then afterwards i went to the ATM to withdraw money for the Salsburg trip and now i sit here in the ground floor lobby listening to Theresa and Teresa play the Piano along with a few other students

so there
goodbye

Second Post

well after reading the first blog and noticing a considerable amount of spelling and grammatical errors i see that i also left out that before i went off with Steven and Joseph i was in the lobby listening to two of my firends play the piano and sing and i would have to say it was a magical experience.

now today was the first day of classes, which was a fun experience one of my classes i can tell will be a long class and two of which will be really great, one espicially due to the Proffesor because he has a ridiculous Scottish accent
after i went to my classes for the day i had the afternoon off so me and Steve Dimassimo went exploring in the mountains by the Kartousa we origionally went looking for the Waterfall but we got lost and found Stations of the Cross and several Marian devotion stations even though we got lonst we were pretty high up and i was able to youdel against one of the neighboring mountains. afterwords i went to Urs with some friends on mine for the christining of one of our friends having her first Alcoholic Drink. after that we went back to the Kartausa and our sat in one of the tea kitchens (public place with kitchen for co-ed) and swapped stories over drinks and saw a newly engaged couple

and now im here in the lobby blogging
until next time

first?

so this is really like my first blog. I have never done one before and i dont really know how this shin-dig works
so here goes:
I will be telling of my Adventures in Austria so people (mainly my family) will keep up with me and will wont have to E-mail me frequently to ask how I'm doing
My first few days have been great i went with the school to the Danube river valley and Melk Monistary it was good i saw an 800 year old cross and say alot of relics and such
afterwords when we got back to the Kartause (the place where we were staying) i explored the town on Gaming for a bit, then we went to one of the local pubs and i got my first green beer and frog (a mixed drink), i tried the green beer but i got the frog, whish was a mistake after trying the green beer. My second day consisted of and endless amount of meetings which ended with a tour of Gaming which showed me what i already saw of the town the day before, but following that we had Mass and then i shared with my roomate some venisen suasage which we enjoyed with some wine and cheese, then i had an accountable meeting with Steve Dimassimo and Joesph Houde over at Urs, the local pub. and now i sit here in the lobby of the Katausa blogging about my day
and now i will bid you Avedes Sea (Probably not how you spell it)
